Memorial Day Ceremony with Residents of Heritage Place of Boerne

After VFW Post 688 concluded the ceremony at the Boerne Cemetery on May 28, 2018 we headed for Heritage Place of Boerne to continue with our day of remembering those who fought and gave all.  Our ceremony begain with the Ceremonial Three Volleys by VFW Post 688 Rifle Squad followed by TAPS played by Jim Manzo, CWO (ret).

We continued under the shade with a brief introduction by our Post Commander Andrew Camplen followed by Jim Manzo, CWO (Ret) playing on trumpet all four branches of the Military songs  Army-The Army Goes Rolling Along, Marines-Marines’ Hymn (The Halls of Montezuma), Navy-Anchors Aweigh, Air Force-Of We Go, and Coast Guard-Semper Paratus. Finalizing our event at Heritage Place Jim played “God Bless America” with the residents sang along to Jim stopped half way through leaving all in attendance finishing the song acapella.
